Grade 4

As we’re concluding the first semester, I would like to thank each and every parent and student for all of the hard work and dedication over the last two terms. It is amazing to see how much growth each and every student has made during this semester. I am proud of the hard work the students have put in, as well as the support of parents has been marvellous.

The up-coming holidays will be a great time to get into the challenge and get some reading done. I’d like all students to read books using Reading Eggs website to polish their comprehension skills over the holidays and to continue to use Mathletics to practise numeracy skills.

Happy and safe holidays everyone. Enjoy your family time together and come back refreshed for term 3!

FEW UPDATES BY GRADE FOUR STUDENTS:

All Grade Four students went to Melbourne to participate in the Maths Olypiad. Three of us versed other Sirius College teams while others watched the competition. Though we didn’t win, it was a very good experience for all of us.

In Art, we enjoyed paper the weaving activity the most. Initially it seemed very hard, but once we got the hang of it, it turned out to be fun! I also enjoyed my Maths sessions.
Hassan Alfraihi

In Music, we are learning how to read music and play recorders according to it. So far, we have learnt how to play the basic notes. It is fun to play different instruments in the music class.
Adam Abdelmaksoud.

Recently, all Grade Fours have been using programs, like Story Jumper and Microsoft Power Point etc. to do their Explorer Project. We learnt a lot about Australian History through this project. It is a fun way to learn!

We celebrated World Environment Day at school. We participated in different activities and we also had a poster making competition. In Grade Four class, I won the competition.
